It was my honour to workshop this at the inaugural Canada UKES Festival, held in Midland, Ontario.
I wanted to create a tune that combined my passion for the blues with my interest in sharing the music of the ukulele, so I came up with "Ukulele Boogie."

Watch the video from the Canada UKES Festival, held May 24 2015 in Midland, Ontario
My goal was to write a song that would be approachable and fun for uke players of all skill levels, and would also let them get a little more 'boogie' in their lives.
I also included a relatively simple harmonica solo using a "straight" C diatonic harmonica for my harp playing friends at the Scarborough Uke Jam and anyone else who is interested in harmonica as well as ukulele. Feel free to include or omit this part as best suits your purposes.

Along with the video I've created some additional learning materials:
- "Ukulele Boogie" PowerPoint slides
lyrics and chords as well as TAB for the walking parts on the uke and the harmonica solo - "Ukulele Boogie" one-page chart in Word format
just lyrics and basic chords, plus TAB for the harp
I would be pleased and honoured if uke players, teachers and jam leaders wanted to use or adapt these materials in any way they saw fit. If you want to change, transpose, rearrange, rewrite or otherwise de-construct the song, please have at it! I hope you have as much fun with "Ukulele Boogie" as I had making it.
